About

We are dedicated to exploring the 21st century’s technological dilemmas and considering how technology can help rather than harm and to learning about the complex systems of technology that will determine our future.

Cybernetics Discovery and its clubs aim to bring younger generations, especially high schoolers, together to discover and think about the complex technological systems that influence every facet of our world and grow exponentially more powerful each day.

What is Cybernetics?

Cybernetics is the study of systems and their connections. It focuses on feedback loops, self-regulation, autonomy, and power dynamics.

But this organization focuses on a specific application of cybernetics. We consider the developing 21st Century's new technologies, especially in computer science and artificial intelligence, in the light of ethics and governance

These technologies have wide-reaching implications for communities, the environment, governing, ethical considerations, and numerous other fields.

Our organization is dedicated to exploring how technology intertwines with society and how to design technology for the environment and the people in it

What We Do

Cybernetics Discovery is organized as a series of lectures, interactive activities, case studies, and projects as a part of a larger curriculum designed to teach high schoolers about the nuances, dilemmas, and potential of modern technology.

Our core belief is that people should have the opportunity to learn more about technology that is advancing exponentially and what we can do to maximize the good it can do while minimizing the harm.

Our curriculum is designed to introduce these cybernetic concepts; give students the tools to analyze technology through the lenses of technical, ethical, and governmental aspects; and empower the individual in a rapidly changing world
