Who We Are
Meet our team!
Founder & President of Cybernetics Discovery
Benjapon Frankel
Benjapon himself first became interested in Cybernetics after reading, “Weapons of Math Destruction” by Cathy O’Neil and virtually attending an MIT Symposium on Artificial Intelligence in 2021 at which Chancellor Bishop of ANU spoke on the international governance of artificial intelligence. While Benjapon had had prior exposure to coding, cybersecurity and robotics, issues of justice, ethics, governance, public policy, and the societal impact of technology and algorithms resonated with him. Subsequently, he reached out to the faculty of the ANU School of Cybernetics and began his journey into first the study of, and later, the sharing of his love of cybernetics with his fellow students. Inspired by the work of the Australian National University (ANU) School of Cybernetics, Benjapon founded the Cherry Creek High School Cybernetics club in 2022 and then Cybernetics Discovery with the help of a dedicated group of students and teachers. In 2023, Benjapon and the club sought to make the pursuit of Cybernetics available to other schools and students while also broadening the perspectives, experiences, and ideas being exchanged.
Executive Vice President
Saksham Hassanandani
Hello! My name is Saksham and I am a junior at Cherry Creek High School. As the first member of Cybernetics, I have seen firsthand how the club will help any member learn more about cybernetics in a fun and engaging way. With the rapid enhancements in technology, most people focus on the theory and computations, but this club brings a new view to technology and the world and not only covers the foundations of AI and upcoming technologies, but also covers the social aspects of how this impacts us as humans and what we can do about it. The discussions we have as well as the projects we engage in are crucial to one's journey in cybernetics. I have my full trust in Benjapon and the board to make cybernetics engaging and fun to everyone while allowing members to walk away with something new and interesting to rattle in the back of their heads every meeting. I am grateful to see such a club rise up and be a contributor to such a cause.
Vice-President of Cherry Creek High School Chapter
Shourya Hooda
Hi! My name is Shourya and I’m vice president of the Cybernetics Club at Cherry Creek. The thing I love most about cybernetics is how you can apply its philosophy to anything, providing a new perspective on how the world works.

Meghan Chen
Hi, I'm Meghan Chen! I think Cybernetics Discovery is a distinctive organization, as its unique topics bring awareness of the role of technology to high school students while benefiting their futures. As someone who hasn’t encountered the intricacies of technology’s consequences, it’s fascinating to think about technology in the way of it’s impacts, not just it’s use in the present. The club is an amazing place to find like-minded individuals and learn suprising things!
